Flybe partners with Disneyland Paris

Flybe has partnered with Disneyland Paris in a bid to create exciting incentives and promotions including theme park ticket and accommodation packages.

Disneyland Paris has previously been seen to offer complimentary adult entry tickets with every Flybe flight booked.

Hugh Wood, Vice President of Disney Destinations International said: “Disney Destinations is excited about expanding the business – this is very positive news for Disneyland Paris and our guests as it offers a wider choice of travel options for them.”

Ryanair at Nimes airport - How does new system work?

I have just returned from a quick trip to France and thought I'd share with you how Ryanair's new "No more check in desks" system actually works.

In brief, very well it seems. I checked in online about a week before I flew for both my outbound and return journeys and printed off my boarding cards at work.

When I arrived at Nimes airport there was a queue of people waiting to go through security into the departure lounge so I hopped on the end of the queue and that was that.

They were pretty tight on checking the hand luggage for size but I didn't see anybody's bag being weighed.

Basically the system is the same as it always was except for the removal of one of the queues. As far as I can see it's a good move that works well.

Beziers airport undergoes refurbishment

Reconstruction of the terminal at Beziers airport is now in hand and will be finished in March.

A new departure lounge is being made in the area which used to house the airport admin - which will now be on a floor above the arrivals area. 

The reception area is also being enlarged and work will soon start to create another standing for a second plane .

No BA Strike Over Easter

BA union Unite, has announced that any forthcoming strike action will not affect the Easter holidays. The ballot is next week and our advice is to either wait until after that before booking flights or to use another airline. We have details of direct flights from UK and Ireland to Toulouse and also direct flights to Paris airports. Remember, once the strike dates are announced, the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair will get booked up very quickly.

EasyJet flights to France looking good today

Have just checked with easyJet and they report all normal today for their easyJet flights to France.

It looks like the snow problems have calmed down a lot and easyJet flights to France are now back on schedule.

All quiet on the Ryanair front for flights to France

Ryanair are reporting all systems normal today for flights to France.

Just out of interest. Ryanair are quoting the following punctuality figures for week ending 10th Jan 2010;

Flights on time - 72%
Within 1 hour - 91%

Obviously these figures aren't just limited to flights to France but are a representation of Ryanair flights as a whole.

New Routes to Limoges Airport next summer

Direct flights from UK to Limoges Airport are set to increase this summer as Flybe announce 3 new routes for 2010.

London Gatwick to Limoges on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 13th July to 31st August

Birmingham to Limoges on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 14th July to 25th August

Manchester to Limoges on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 17th July to 28th August

Flights from Southampton to Limoges will be daily from mid July to the end of August and there will be a flight from Newcastle to Limoges every Saturday between 22nd May and 29th September.

Previously, Ryanair announced a new route from Leeds/Bradford to Limoges on Wednesdays and Sundays starting on the 28th March 2010

No more snow disruptions for flights to France

It looks like for now at least, we are rid of the disruptions caused by heavy snowfall in France.

I've checked around and I cannot find any airports in France or flights to France with delays or cancellations today. I'll keep an eye open and will report any disruptions to flights to France as and when I see them.

French air traffic controllers are on strike today. Disruptions are to be expected but so far no Ryanair or easyJet flights have been cancelled as a result.

Have just checked on the status of Ryanair flights to France and am pleased to say that as of 12:00 hrs today, there are no flights from the UK to France cancelled today.

Snow update - Carcassonne airport still closed but all is not lost.............

This morning we have some good news from Ryanair. The low cost airline that people love to hate has come up trumps in the battle against snow at Carcassonne airport.

Carcassonne airport is still closed but Ryanair are operating flights from Perpignan airport until Carcassonne airport reopens.

Ryanair advise that passengers should present as normal at Carcassonne airport where they will be transfered by coach to Perpignan airport for their flight.

Well done Ryanair.

Ryanair has cancelled 15 of todays flights to and from the UK due to severe weather conditions. I am happy to say that there are no flights to or from France in the list of cancelled flights for today.

In figures released recently, Ryanair and easyJet topped the poll for largest number of aircraft delivered in 2009.

This equated to 54 B737-800 deliveries – or an average of 4.5 per month. easyJet was next, with 37 A320 family aircraft.
