Flybe reports drop in profits

Devon based budget airline Flybe reports that its pre-tax profits have dropped by nearly two thirds.

The reported figures cover the year until end March 2009 and show that pre-tax profits have dropped from £35.4 million in 2007-2008 to £12.8 million.

Flybe attributes a lot of this to the fact that business travel for them virtually stopped in the first quarter of 2009.

However.............during the same period, British Airways reported a pre-tax loss of £401 million.

Ryanair Courts the Business Traveller

Ryanair have opened a new "No 1 Traveler" lounge at Stanstead Airport. Costing £17.50 this appears mainly to be aimed at business travellers since it offers free UK land line calls, free wifi and other business essentials such as printing and fax. However, there are also newspapers, magazines and TV screens so anyone can choose this extra little bit of comfort if they so wish.

You can find the lounge near Gate 49. This is the second "No1 Traveller" lounge at Stanstead so make sure you go to the correct location.
