Airbus A320 Crashes at Perpignan

An Airbus A320 passenger plane crashed into the Mediteranean sea as it approached Perpignan airport on a maintenance flight on Thursday.

The plane was being leased by German charter airline XL Airways and was scheduled to return to service for it's owners Air New Zealand in December/January.

Two out of the seven people on board were killed with their bodies being recovered from the sea by search and rescue. Divers were due to search for the plane's black box flight recorder on Friday to help determine the cause of the accident.
